I followed the instructions and WOW!!!!!!! I have a 2004 Cadillac with a blown head gasket at only 83,000 miles. The vehicle had white smoke out the tailpipe and bubbling water coming out the overflow cap. It also had strong back pressure from the overflow hose. After one hour of using the product the back pressure was gone and the car started to idle like a new engine. The temp is steady at 190 and I test drove it and the car ran perfect. Dura-Seal® is simply more advanced than other brand. We custom formulate your kit to cure at your engine's temperature at the cylinder head. This prevents our sealer from curing in other areas, It can only cure in the cylinder area based on temperature. No other brand can offer you that! Drain coolant system and run clean water through entire system. This will remove most contaminates. If you've used a water glass/silicate based sealer prior to using Dura-Seal®, you will need to purchase our "Water-glass Flush Agent" and remove the water-glass from your system, before using our sealer.
It's not required to remove thermostat as our sealer cannot cure or clog that area, but, if left-in, it will slow the process by restricting flow. Next, pour the Dura-Seal, and Extreme Powder Pack into radiator, (no radiator cap?) disconnect upper radiator hose from engine and pour sealer into hose (they will flow to radiator). Add water.
Idle engine for 20 minutes, turn off and let cool for 20 minutes, repeat this run-cycle three times. Next, drive vehicle for 20 minutes with sealer in system. Then, drain Dura-Seal® out. Later, refill with coolant and Dura-Seal® Liquid-Ice. First-time applications have a 98% success rate. Only 2% require a second *free application to achieve a full seal, (*which is covered under warranty, just call us to receive a second application within 30 days of purchase).
Typical repair-life is 5 years.
